Part # 8531 - AX10 Titanium Drag Link

 

This part completed my Lunsford upgrades for the AX10. I love titanium; I'll put it where ever I can on any vehicle. Lunsford makes some of the toughest parts on the planet. My worry level as to whether these parts would hold up or not was at zero.

 

 

You need some Traxxas rod ends (#5347) for these because the thread diameter is much thicker on these and drilling out the original ones would make them too thin and flimsy. No reason to put titanium links with weak ends.

 

I noticed that one side of the ends has a smooth ring around the hole for the ball. I discovered that pressing through that side makes it much easier to insert the balls.

 

 

I have a handy vise that works great for attaching the ends without damaging the links. (I know the whole point is moot when putting these on a crawler will only result in them getting scratched the first time out, but they need to look good for the beauty shots, right?)

 

 

Screwing them all the way down to the end was a perfect length and fit.
