RC How To:

Shock Maintenance - Fix Leaky Shocks (Sealing & Filling)

These shocks are leaking. I plan on updating them to the V2 shocks soon, but for now I want to stop the leaking of these.

AE sells something called Green Slime for this. By looking at it, you can see how it gets its name.

Apply some around the O-rings around the shaft and I also put some along the tops for the shock caps to keep them from leaking there as well.

This might not completely stops all leaks, but certainly slows it. If you completely rebuild the shocks, or use green slime from the start, they might not ever leak.

After that it's just filling them up. I always fill mine up where you can push the shaft all the way in and it rebounds just slightly. If a lot of rebound, there is too much oil, if no rebound then it has too little.

Filled Shocks

Here is the video after adding fluid. No more bounce or tires coming off the ground.
