I have painted a couple of dozen lids with rattle cans with some descent results and always had fun doing it. (you can check out all lids at the RC Paint Shop)

 

I knew eventually I would get an airbrush and I am glad I did. It's a hobby all on its own. A hobby within a hobby. There are gravity feeds and siphon feeds and single action and dual action. I decided on a dual action gravity feed one. The quality here is superior.
