Weller Soldering Station WESD51

Soldering is inevitable in RC regardless if you are nitro, gas, or electric, but especially if you are into electric.

Soldering yourself is not difficult and can be accomplished quite cheaply. You can buy a simple soldering iron for a few bucks and for the most part will work fine. But when you are start doing a lot of soldering it makes sense to get you a better tool to make it as easy on yourself as possible. This is where a nice soldering station comes into play. I use a great medium grade Weller who is known for the finest soldering equipment out there.

This is a digital version of the WES51. I prefer the exact settings and being able to lockout tip temperature. Having a huge selection of available tips is a big plus too.

Weller has been making soldering equipment for decades and their medium grade one here is all I need for RC needs. If you are interested in a premium station take a look at their WX2 or WD1002T models.
